Spied! 2021 Nissan Almera Testing on EDSA

News of the stoppage of the Almera’s local production doesn’t mean that Nissan’s pulling out of the sub-compact market. In fact, the all-new 2021 Almera is almost upon us as an eagle-eyed reader spotted it being tested on EDSA.

While Nissan took to great lengths to cover up the front and rear fascia, it’s very clear that this is their all-new sub-compact sedan. You can see this in the shape of the headlights, taillights, and even the positioning of the side view mirrors.

So far, Nissan has been mum about the exact specifications of its Philippine-spec Almera, but reader Philip Anthony Ipapo says he saw two units being driven on EDSA—with one looking to a base model with steel wheels and fender-mounted indicators, and the other a top-trim model with the very same wheel designs seen in the Thailand model.

If the Philippines follows Thailand and even Malaysia’s lead, the all-new Almera will be powered by a turbocharged 1.0-liter 3 cylinder engine.

Are you excited for the all-new Almera?
