Subaru PH to Launch 7-Seater Evoltis (aka Ascent) in April

The first of Subaru’s six promised all-new models for 2021 is almost upon us: the 2021 Evoltis. Known as the Ascent in North America, the Evoltis represents Subaru’s re-entry into the large 7-seater SUV segment, a segment which it competed in before with the Tribeca.

Not much is officially known about the 2021 Evoltis, but based on the single teaser image on Subaru’s exclusive Philippine distributor, Motor Image’s website, the variant that they’ll be offering locally is the 7-seater variant (the Ascent is available in an 8-seater configuration in the U.S.).

Since Motor Image has confirmed that the Evoltis will be sourced from Subaru’s Lafayette, Indiana plant, a gander at the available trim models in the U.S. suggests that Motor Image will bring in the top-of-the-line Touring trim.

If that’s the case, the 7-seater Evoltis will use a 260-horsepower, 377 Nm of torque 2.4-liter turbocharged flat-4. This is mated to a Lineartronic CVT driving all four wheels via Subaru’s signature Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Like the Forester and Outback, the Evoltis will have X-Mode—a one-button system that optimizes engine output and transmission ratio for optimal traction on low grip surfaces.

As the Touring spec, the Evoltis will run on 20-inch wheels shod with 245/50R20 tires and will come equipped with steering responsive LED headlights, LED front fog lights, satin-chrome side view mirrors, and a panoramic glass moonroof.

Interior features should include power adjustable front seats with ventilation, leather upholstery, power tailgate, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, USB charging ports on the first to third rows, 19 cupholders, tri-zone climate control with air vents for all three rows, a Harman Kardon sound system, and of course, the Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist system.

As for the Evoltis’s official launch date, Subaru says it’ll be launched sometime in April. According to sources, it could happen as early as April 12. Pricing? Nothing final yet, but it’s reported that it’ll be priced below the P 4 million mark.

Buyers can register their interest in the all-new Evoltis. All Subaru dealerships are accepting reservations.  The first 50 customers will get a limited-edition Evoltis watch. Check out this link for more info.
