Geography Teacher Integrates Music to Lessons Went Viral on FB

A geography teacher from Misamis Occidental made some innovations on his teaching techniques as he integrated music to his boring lessons and everything went well after his video went viral on social media. 

The geography teacher from Misamis Occidental identified as Sir Jeric Maribao, a mountain teacher assigned in a far-flung area of Misamis Occidental. 

During one of Sir Jeric's lessons he uses an innovative technique as he integrates music to his geography lessons. 

Geography Teacher Jeric Maribao uses music to teach his students about the Geography of Region 10 to the beat of the popular 90's song Ligaya popularized by Eraserheads. 

Teacher Jeric just replaced the lyrics of the song Ligaya with his own Visayan version of the song giving facts about the tourist spots of Region 10. 

The innovative teaching techniques made by Jeric Maribao caught the attentions of netizens particularly teachers from various parts of the country who were inspired to copy his style of teaching. 

The video was first uploaded in the newly-created Facebook Page Jerics Channel garnered more than 400,000 views and still counting.

Due to the popularity of the said viral Geography teacher, Jeric Maribao was interviewed by a local news media channel RNG Luzon as he shared his secrets and the story behind his viral video. 

According to Jeric Maribao who had been teaching for the past seven years, as he shared the challenges being faced by mountain teachers like him, particularly in monitoring the learning progress of his students. 

Despite the fact that there are only few students coming to school, they need to develop modern and innovative teaching and learning process. 

The geography teacher did not only taught about geography in a unique way but he also revealed that there is indeed a need for full support in terms of foods as incentives which comes from his own pocket, not for instant gratification but they need to work hard for it.
