Director to Marcos Critics: Why Are they Afraid of the Movie "Maid in Malacañang"
Veteran director and prominent supporter of Pres. Bongbong Marcos on social media, veteran director Mannuel "Manny" Castañeda is calling all the critics of the Marcos Family regarding their critical statement against the movie "Maid in Malacañang."
According to Manny Castañeda, the critics of the Marcos Family should just wait and watch the movie to let the Marcoses tell their side of the story.
The director took to social media as he began his story by confessing that like many Filipinos, he knew very little of really happened inside Malacañang Palace at the height of the controversial "People Power Revolution."
Manny stated that he heard some elements of the movie directed by young film maker but veteran director Darryl Yap. He stated that Yap is zeroing in on that particular time frame, the height of the People Power.
Darryl Yap just wanted to show how the late Former President Ferdinand Marcos handled the situation and likewise members of the former first family under extreme pressure.
Manny Castañed find it fund that some Anti-Marcos advocates are already so riled up when we have yet to watch the finish product to merit such adverse reactions from critics of the Marcos Family and from those Dilawan supporters of the opposition.
There were some Marcos critics that were so agitated that some actors involved in the movie project have been attacked at a very personal level.
The veteran Director through his official FB account took this opportunity urging the Anti-Marcos advocates and the public in general to listen to the Marcos side of the story without biases.
Manny said that this is the chance we get to know more information and perhaps create a more comprehensive picture of the EDSA People Power. He wondered and can't help but ask what is it that the Anti-Marcos are so angry and afraid of Darryl Yap's movie?
Read the Complete Statement of Manny Castañeda:
Let us admit it. Up to this very day, we know very little of what happened inside Malacanang at the height of the "people power revolution".
They say "Maid in Malacanang" focuses on that particular time frame inside the palace, how Pres Marcos handled the situation and the interaction among the members of the family under extreme pressure.
I am just so amused that some anti Marcos advocates are already so apprehensive and defensive when not much has been presented to us to merit such adverse reactions. It even has come to a point that they have attacked the actors involved in the project at a very personal level.
Removing all biases, I am more than eager to listen to their side of the story. It's about time we get to know more information and maybe create a more detailed picture of the historical event.
So, lets give them the chance to speak.
Nagtataka lang ako kung bakit sobrang galit at parang natatakot ang mga anti Marcos sa project na ito.
May dapat ba silang katakutan?
