Giselle Tongi Expose on Social Media For Claiming She Was Marching During EDSA-1
Veteran actress and former TV personality Giselle Tongi or G. Toengi made some headlines on social media, particularly on Twitter after her controversial tweet rebuking Ella Cruz for saying "history is akin to chismis or gossip."
Giselle Tongi told fellow celebrity Ella Cruz that actors don't neet to justify the villainy of their roles. She also noted that she would love to share with Ella how at 8 years old in 1986, she marched to the streets, along with countless others who are part of history which Ella dismissing as 'HERE say."
The statement of Tongi against Ella Cruz caught the attentions of various social media users as they investigated the truth behind the statement made by the US-based actress.
On Facebook, a popular Facebook Page VOVph shared the screenshot of Giselle Tongin's tweet and wrote the following caption that reads "Tsismis: G Tongi marched the streets of EDSA at 8 yrs old in 1986"
The reasons why the claimed made by Tongi about her alleged march in EDSA could be considered as tsismis was because of the fact that an article from a major newspaper outlet reported that Gisselle Tongi was not yet in Manila during the year 1986.
VOVph posted the following statement "Fact: G Tongi was born in France... she was raised by her mother in New York and came to live with her in Manila when she was 15."
Due to the viral expose made by VOVph, Giselle Tongi Walters responded to the expose as she claimed that she was actually here in the Philippine, she was 8 years old in 1986 during the People Power.
"Actually You are all incorrect. I grew up in Paranaque. I was 8 in 1986, during People power! Why do you all bend the truth? The article from Inquirer has their facts wrong. Don't rewrite history." Tongi claimed.
Aside from the response made by Tongi on Facebook, she also took time to respond to her bashers and supporters on Twitter as she tweeted the following message:
"Why are people so gullible? I was at People Power, when the Marcos authoritarian family was ousted out of power. I was a student in De La Salle Zobel at the time living in Paranaque. Just coz a prior article is wrong doesn’t discredit my experience. Mga tanga!"
