Veteran Lawyer Questions Hidilyn Diaz for Ranting Against Government Lack of Support
Veteran lawyer and prominent blogger Atty. Nick NaƱgit questions Olympic Gold Medalist Hidilyn Diaz for her latest rant on social media claiming that she's lacking government support right now.
The statement of Atty. Nick went viral on social media after Hidilyn's expose about her problems regarding her preparations for the upcoming Olympics.
According to the lawyer on his Facebook post, Hidilyn Diaz should be reminded that Diaz got a huge chunks of her winning money after capturing the gold medal in an Olympics after 97 years of trying by the Philippine team.
Hidilyn Diaz won in the 55-kilogram weightlifting event and became the first ever Filipino to win a gold medal in an Olympic events.
Atty.
The veteran lawyer also suggested to Hidilyn that she should consult the Philippine Sports Commission first before making an attempt to post a rant on social media about her situation.

Am I the only one who sees the obvious flaw in the reasoning? Critics keep bring up Hidilyn's winnings. THEY! ARE!! PRIZES!!! While she may use it to finance her training, she is *not obligated* to. As a national athlete it is the duty of government to do that. (Do a little research to see what she does intend to do with her winnings. It's not all selfish.)
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I note that those bashing Hidilyn tend to fall under one or both of the following categories:
a) They have no idea how much it costs to fully support an international-caliber athlete; and
b) they are disciples of the Old Man who once red-tagged Hidilyn and put her in some luidicrously amateurish 'matrix' which was later retracted.
I don't know about the other bashers, but I think it's safe to say this blogger indeed qualifies for the first category.
As for the second? Well, I've gone over his Facebook account. I leave that up to readers to see for themselves.
